Located in Huitzilac, to the north of the state of Morelos, at 2900 meters above sea level, the Zempoala lagoons are comprised of seven beautiful lagoons of volcanic origin (Zempoala, Compila, Tonatihua, Seca, Ocoyothengo, Quila, and Hueyapan), and are surrounded by coniferous and pine forests. The Zempoala lagoons are ideal for picnics and recreational activities, such as sport fishing as well as horseback riding. There is also a camping area near the lagoons.
